Duplicates in Salesforce
How Duplicates in Rapport's Salesforce package differs from Duplicates in Rapport on the web.
Overview
Rapport's Salesforce package has its own Duplicates for your data admins in Salesforce. It works on the same groups as Rapport on the web, so a decision made in one shows in the other, and either one can undo the other's merges. Its tabs, its review, bulk merging, and undoing work as they do on the web. See Duplicates. This page covers only what's different.
It needs the Flourish Rapport: Data Admin permission set and the four Flourish fields on the configuration record. See Setup.
What things are called
| On the web | In Salesforce |
|---|---|
| Duplicates in the sidebar | Duplicates, under Data on the Flourish Rapport Hub tab |
| The data admin role | The Flourish Rapport: Data Admin permission set |
| Duplicates on a person's page | The Flourish Rapport: Possible Duplicates card on a Contact, Lead, or Account page, with Review and merge and Not the same |
| Certain, Possible, Not the same, and Merged tabs | The same four, with Not the same and Merged on the right |
What only Salesforce has
- A search box that finds groups by name, email, or phone.
- A Related column and a badge on each group that says whether it's Clean, how many conflicts it has, or that A lead converts.
- Invert selection beside Clear selection.
- Resume for a merge that hasn't moved for a few minutes.
- The record page card. Add Flourish Rapport: Possible Duplicates to Contact, Lead, and Account pages in Lightning App Builder. It shows only to data admins and only when the record has possible duplicates.
What works differently
Who Salesforce says made a merge. In Salesforce, the merge runs as the data admin, so Salesforce shows them as making each change. It moves and deletes records whatever that person's own record access is. On the web, it runs through your organization's Salesforce connection. See Who Salesforce says made a merge.
Undoing. In Salesforce, Undo puts back every value the merge changed on the record that stayed. That includes a value someone has changed since. On the web, a value changed since the merge stays as it is.
What Salesforce lacks
Salesforce has no page for each person with their records side by side, no network or map of how people connect, and no agent to ask. See Finding People, Connections, and Asking Rapport.
